Content Editing

The Benefits of Content Editing:

What I Do:

My style of content editing is a cross between developmental and line editing, meaning I will address big picture issues like pacing and character development while also providing in-text suggestions with actionable advice on how to address specific issues and strengthen scenes.

I’m happy to edit any length of work, from back cover copy to full manuscripts. I prefer to work in genres of speculative fiction, but I'm open to any narrative genre except erotica.

Why me?

After writing and publishing more than a dozen books of my own, including award-winners and bestsellers, I know what it takes to make a good story great. You have the idea. You have the drive. Let me help you take your story to the next level.

L. R. Braden understands story and how to revise a book. Two critical skills an editor needs.

What You'll Get:

Once I’ve edited your work, you will receive between one and five pages of developmental notes that will cover what is and isn’t working in your story, overarching issues that need to be addressed, etc. I will also add line edits and comments within the work itself that you can navigate through using the “track changes” feature in programs like MSWord or LibreOffice.

What it will cost:

Price depends on length. I charge 1.5 cents per word for editing services.

Bringing magic to the world one story at a time.
